HYDRAis an energy hybridization infrastructure that is designed to apply and study the combination of different renewable energy sources - photovoltaic, hydro and wind - at the same connection point. This approach enables research, in addition to guaranteeing a constant flow of energy and reducing operating costs, driving a more efficient and sustainable transition, among other issues.

The transition to a carbon-neutral economy by 2050 requires the rapid adoption of renewable energies. In this context, technological solutions are emerging to help address this climate crisis and achieve the transition to a zero net greenhouse gas emissions economy.

While there is a very positive public perception of renewable energies, there are still some concerns and challenges - such as intermittency of service or initial installation costs - that slow down the transition process in both industry and households.

This infrastructure is installed at CTIC RuralTech, in Peón (Villaviciosa) .

Features of HYDRA:

  • Advanced energy integration: combines three renewable sources - solar, wind and hydro - into a single smart system.
  • Portability and versatility: its compact and modular design, integrated into a standard container, facilitates transport and installation in different locations, adapting to the specific conditions of each environment.
  • Autonomy in isolated environments: it incorporates its own electrical generator that simulates the grid and allows its operation in locations without external electrical connection.

HYDRA will allow:

  • To develop predictive models to estimate the availability of energy resources based on meteorological and production data.
  • To test and validate technologies in a controlled environment, allowing different production and demand scenarios to be simulated.
  • To perform real-time monitoring and analysis of energy generation.
  • To advise companies that want to extend their energy production model.
  • To support the development of technological feasibility studies to support the transformation of innovative ideas into demonstrable concepts...

In short, a demonstration environment for experimentation and generation with an environment of energy hybridization.
