Thanks to all the people and companies that have placed their trust in CTIC during these 20 years. It is exactly two decades ago, on 5 December 2003, a group of Asturian technology companies formally constituted the CTIC Foundation.
A few days earlier, the small team that worked on its creation, with the same companies that made up CTIC's board of trustees, had created the Asturias ICT Cluster.
In the founding statutes, which are now 20 years old, a declaration of intent was already made: our centre had to respond, from technological innovation, to the needs of the territory. The vocation of the territory would be a constant throughout these years that, in 2019, we redoubled by creating CTIC RuralTech, the first national centre of territorial intelligence and technological innovation for rural areas.
And this commitment is, without a doubt, one of our differential values. We see technology as a way of tackling the problems and challenges of the economic and social environment. Hence the slogan for this anniversary: 20 years as guardians of the territory.
In addition, we have collaborated with more than 25,000 regional companies promoting #digitaltransformation and fostering disruptive technological innovation. But our activity was not only concentrated in Asturias. We have led and participated in numerous European projects (we are currently working on 12 projects collaborating with partners from all EU countries). Our experience and knowledge also led us to work in different Latin American countries, as well as in the African continent.
For all this, after these 20 years, we can only thank all of you who have accompanied us on this journey, which will surely take us to new destinations and present us with new challenges!
