Energy community
CTIC has deployed in its work centre in Peón, RuralTech, a photovoltaic installation with 88 solar panels and a peak power of 35kW, which serves several houses in the Valley, the rural school and the Technology Centre itself. It is a pilot project, aimed at designing a model of collective, sustainable, autonomous consumption that can be replicated in other rural areas.
In a context of climate emergency and transition towards sustainable energy generation alternatives, CTIC Technology Centre has created a local energy community at its facilities in Valle de Peón, Arroes and Candanal, which serves as a model of collective consumption and incorporates technological, community and eco-social innovation in its development.
This pilot acts as a demonstrator and will serve to test and experiment both the available technologies and the community organisational models, becoming a visitable reference to encourage the creation of energy communities in other rural geographic areas.
