Since April 2023, Patricia López Vicente has been in charge of the Alsa Innovation Centre, which focuses on promoting, coordinating and developing R&D&I activities for the company. The centre develops its activity around the digitalisation and sustainability of mobility, creating new solutions and services for the benefit of Alsa and its customers.
She also worked as an independent consultant collaborating with international entities such as Science Foundation Ireland (SFI), Peace Research Institute of Oslo (PRIO), the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT), IMFAHE and Isdefe, in projects on technology foresight, strategic planning of R&D&I, evaluation of proposals and projects on disruptive technologies and advising on the impact of new technologies, such as artificial intelligence, in the defence sector.

Since 2013, she held different positions at the European Defence Agency (EDA), based in Brussels. At the Agency, she was the R&D&I Coordinator in establishing the Agency's technology watch and foresight function, together with the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC), and leading the Technology Foresight Exercise 2021-2040. There, she also held the positions of Project Officer on European Defence Research, as second in the Preparatory Action in Defence Research (PADR) Unit, a precursor action of the European Defence Fund (EDF), and Moderator of the research group on new materials, CapTech for Materials and Structures, also supporting the development of the Agency's R&D&I planning process.
Previously, she worked at Isdefe for nine years as part of the technical assistance to the Ministry of Defence's Technological Observation and Foresight System. During these years, he participated as a national representative and chair in NATO, EDA and LoI groups on R&D&I and on disruptive technologies of interest to defence. At Isdefe, she had the opportunity to participate in different phases of EU FP7 projects related to technology foresight.
Patricia has a degree in physical sciences and an MBA in defence, focusing on R&D and innovation management.
