On 23rd and 24th November, the General Assembly of the European project DATA CELLAR EU met in Gijón; a Horizon Europe project that brings together 25 international partners and whose representatives participated, for the most part, in person at this meeting. The objective of DATA CELLAR is to create a shared data space for energy that supports the creation, development and management of local energy communities in the European Union. The meeting was attended by CIRCE, CTIC and FAEN, the three Spanish partners of the project. They were accompanied by partners from 14 other European countries. The purpose of this international meeting in Gijón was to analyse the activity of the consortium during the last 6 months and to propose a roadmap to be followed during the next half year.
DATACELLAR has a budget of almost 7 million euros, coordinated by the Italian engineering company RINA and addressed by a total of 31 partners from 15 countries, this project explores the concept of shared data space, the technological basis of the European data economy, in the field of renewable energies and more specifically of local energy communities. In addition to CTIC, the Asturian Energy Foundation (FAEN) participates in this project as a partner and has managed to attract to Asturias one of the 6 demonstrators planned in the project, through which will deploy services and tools that will provide services and tools that will provide services and tools which will provide the common European data space developed in the project on one local energy communitiy located in rural Asturias, in Bimenes.
